April, 2007 - NIA adds two more to creative team
2007 continues to be a year of growth and change for NIA. This month, the agency adds two more to their creative team: Jen Slusser as Sr. Graphic Designer and Derick Shaw as Sr. Motion Graphics Designer.
Jen Slusser brings over 10 years experience in print design and production as well as expertise with web design and online advertising to NIA. As Sr. Graphic Designer, Jen will play a major role in NIA's print projects as well as grow her skills in interactive design. Prior to joining NIA, Jen held senior design positions with United Healthcare Workers-West and Townsend Agency. In addition, she has worked as a freelance designer in several industries including healthcare, entertainment, publishing and financial services. Jen holds a BFA in Visual Communications from Northern Illinois University.
Derick comes to NIA with extensive experience and expertise in broadcast and non-broadcast video production as well as motion graphic development. Adept both in front of the camera as well as in post-production, Derick will be involved in the majority of NIA's video projects as well as in other motion graphics technologies. With 3 major videos set to shoot during April and May, he'll have his hands full from the get-go. Prior to joining NIA, Derick held a position with Rhythm and Hues Studios where he was involved in the production of Happy Feet and Night at the Museum. He also held contract positions with Logan Media and Metmedia, and freelanced for a number of networks including Spike TV, UPN, PBS and more. Derick holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Digital Graphic Design from Expression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville.
CEO Bob Godfrey notes, “When we initially set out to hire another designer, we weren't sure where to focus - on print design or video production. As it turned out, we realized that we needed to bring on two people simultaneously and we couldn't be happier. Due to the efforts of our account management team, our business has grown tremendously. This was definitely the right decision as we will be better able to handle the influx of work going forward.”
